Melissa is the lead litigation paralegal at Dental & Medical Counsel, PC. She supports the firm’s attorneys in connection with civil litigation in state and federal trial courts, appellate courts, administrative proceedings, binding arbitrations, and pre-litigation dispute resolution. Melissa has extensive experience in the areas of employment law, court rules, and discovery. She is heavily involved in the defense of wrongful termination, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, and other related claims arising out of employment disputes; HIPAA data breaches and insurance company audits of healthcare providers. Melissa works closely with our attorneys and clients to help both achieve the most successful outcome possible for our clients. Having worked in several front-office positions in the dental industry prior to joining our firm, Melissa has a broad knowledge of dental office administration and procedures and is able to understand the needs of our clients in running successful practices.
Melissa is now a first-year law student at John F. Kennedy University, College of Law. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in Legal Studies and completed the American Bar Association (ABA) accredited paralegal program at John F. Kennedy University. She was inducted into the national paralegal honor society, Lambda Epsilon Chi in 2016.
What energizes you outside of work? Kickboxing.
